HONG KONG, April 16 (Xinhua) -- A magnitude-5.8 earthquake jolted 33km NNW of L'Esperance Rock, New Zealand at 09:22:32 GMT on Tuesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 31.1808 degrees south latitude and 179.0887 degrees west longitude.
