WUHAN, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- The number of volunteers for the 7th Military World Games has reached 236,000, organizers said here on Wednesday.

The volunteers include 210,000 city volunteers and 26,000 Games-time volunteers with the nickname of "Smart Shuishan", namely metasequoila or dawn redwood, which is native to Lichuan county in Hubei province, China, with its shortest growing to at least 50 meters in height.

The majority are from the colleges, including 178 foreign students, as Wuhan has a total of one million undergraduates in more than 80 universities and colleges, the largest in China.

The Games-time volunteers will receive professional training before they are assigned to Games venues, while city volunteers will offer road guidance, language service, sports promotion and other services in transportation hubs, business centers and tourist resorts.

The 7th Military World Games will run from October 18 to 27, 2019 in Wuhan, Hubei province, China.
