ROME, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- An oil tanker exploded on a ring road on the outskirts of Italy's northcentral city of Bologna, firefighters tweeted Monday.

"Teams are on site, intervention underway," emergency services tweeted.

ANSA news agency reported some people were injured as a violent blaze erupted, followed by several explosions.
