TEHRAN, July 12 (Xinhua) -- Iranian referee Alireza Faghani together with linesmen Reza Sokhandan and Mohammad Mansouri will officiate third-place playoff match of the 2018 World Cup between England and Belgium, semi-official Mehr news agency reported on Thursday.

Faghani officiated Germany-Mexico and Serbia-Brazil matches in the group stage of the competition.

He also took charge of Argentine-France in the quarterfinals and proved his expertise in the field.

Faghani has not used VAR (video assistant referee) during the three matches.

The match will be held on Saturday at the Saint Petersburg Stadium.
