HONG KONG, March 22 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong stocks closed down 343.47 points, or 1.09 percent, to 31,071.05 points on Thursday.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index traded between 31,018.44 and 31,686.67. Turnover totaled 151.90 billion Hong Kong dollars (about 19.36 billion U.S. dollars).
