SINGAPORE, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed down on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) went down 0.66 percent or 22.61 points to close at 3383.77.

A total of 2.63 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 2.21 billion Singapore dollars (about 1.68 billion U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 258 to 256.
