TOKYO, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks advanced Monday morning with investor sentiment bolstered by Wall Street's gains late last week coupled with robust earnings reports from Japanese companies.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 101.38 points, or 0.45 percent, from Friday to 22,626.56.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 4.29 points, or 0.25 percent, at 1,746.87.
Iron and steel, information and communication, and fishery and agriculture-linked issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break.
